Find A Hobby

This is the second post in my series of 5 Tips for Busy Moms. Last week we talked about the importance of spending alone time, this week we’re talking about importance of hobbies. When was the last time you did something just for the enjoyment of doing it? Not because someone NEEDS you to do it for them, but because it’s something you really want to do.

This can be something that is completely new and out of the box for you, something you’ve been thinking about doing, but never quite pulled the trigger on it. Is there a Pinterest project that looks really fun to try? No one says you have to be good at it!

Maybe it’s something you used to do a long time ago, before you became a busy mom. Think back to something that really brought you joy when you were younger. Did you enjoy reading a specific genre of books? Did you take dance classes or other type of classes? Did you knit or crochet? Did you paint or play a musical instrument?

Think back even younger! What did you enjoy when you were a kid? Is there something that was so fun for you that you can now do with your kids? So often we get caught up in the business of life – we forget to have fun. Think back to that little girl inside you – do you think she needs to be let out to play again?

When it comes to hobbies, the possibilities are endless – you just have to find something that brings you joy.
